VendiSoft Director Server

Director Server is a full-scale self-service enterprise management system. It is feature-rich and open, allowing you to make your business processes more efficient. Director Server is to self-service as SAP, Oracle, and PeopleSoft are to ERP, Financials, and HR. Director Server is a modular enterprise package that allows you to manage virtually every aspect of your self-service network and the business process that revolves around them. Through an open, modular system, VendiSoft can be tailored to your business needs.

Director Server is accessible.

All of Director Server’s features are accessible through an ASP driven web interface. The application provides quick access to all features of the Director Server software, including advanced features such as desktop control and remote management tools. There is no need to launch and switch between many third party applications; Director Server gives you all the tools you need in a central location.

Director Server is secure.

Director Server includes Gateway VPN, our proprietary communication protocol for securing data and communicating with deployed devices.

  • Provides ability to sit on private networks (retail, corporate, healthcare, financial, etc..)
  • Bi-directional Communication between Director Server and Deployer OS
  • Secured data flow
  • Secured financial transaction
  • Secured information transaction

Director Server is feature rich.

There are numerous modules that comprise the Director Server application allowing you to control all aspects of your distributed network. These modules include:

System Management

Setup your self-service devices here. This module allows you to perform configuration of each device, setup notifications, and perform remote management functions.

Multicast

Configure multicast jobs and send them to one or more devices. A multicast job is a collection of files along with a batch script that tells each device how to perform a task. For example, this tool can be used to push new interfaces or install OS updates.

Contacts

Tie contact information to locations, clients, or advertisers here. Lookup contacts quickly here instead of an external address keeper such as Outlook.

Interface Settings

VendiSoft is data driven. Enter configuration data in an easy to use web interface that is stored in the back end database. Assign these configurations to one or more devices and push it instantly. No need to update interfaces by pushing out files.

Advertising Content

Create a library of movies, graphics, sounds, animations, and other multimedia content stored on director. Then setup campaigns defining which media to play from the media library, when to play the media, and optionally, how to bill it. Finally, assign campaigns to many devices and push the content out automatically.

Demographics

Enter demographic information for kiosk locations to more effectively choose and schedule advertisement campaigns.

Transactions

Track any physical or digital goods that are taken or dispensed by devices. Setup thresholds so you can preemptively service units in the field before critical conditions are met. For example, know when paper is about to run out or a bill acceptor is about to become full.

Assets

Track hardware devices and peripherals (bill acceptors, printers, etc..) WebRaiser client software will enumerate hardware on your devices and report them back to the Director server.

Director Server is open.

Integrate with other back office systems through the Director Server web services. Director Server has a central database repository containing all the data about and collected through your network.

Director Server is remote management.

Completely control devices at a system level with the integrated Desktop Control and Management Console tools. Desktop Control allows you to interact directly with client desktops. Mouse and keyboard inputs are sent and the screen is emulated across the network. Desktop Control replaces third party tools such as PC Anywhere. To provide the network operator more power, Director Server offers its Management Console tool. The Management Console is a collection of system level utilities that operate utilizing minimal network traffic and without affecting the front-end usability of the client system.

  • Command Prompt – Interact with a DOS command prompt. Use the command prompt as if you were sitting at the device. WebRaiser provides you with specific command line utilities so you can perform actions such as detecting if the system is in use, restarting the computer, posting an out of order sign, and much more.
  • File Browser – This component mimics the Windows Explorer file browser. Copy, move and create files and directories with this tool. Additionally, upload and download files to and from the remote device.
  • Process Manager – This component mimics the Task Manager process viewer. See which processes are running, their process ids, and their memory usage. Selectively end processes as you would if you were locally at the device.
  • SQL Console – Issue raw SQL statements directly to the client side MSDE database. Recordsets can be requested and displayed.
  • Log Viewer – View the client side logs that have not yet been synchronized with the Director Server server. View client local data such as the error log, event log, resource log, and transaction log.
  • System Shell – Perform functions on the WebRaiser shell. The WebRaiser Shell replaces the Windows Explorer shell. Through this component you can enable and disable security for support, start and stop WebRaiser services, and lock or reboot the system.
  • Registry Editor – This component mimics the Windows registry editing utility. Browse the registry and make changes.

Director Server is network efficient.

Client-server data is sent over a high performance, secure, custom protocol with minimal overhead. Data is secured through 128-bit strong encryption using cipher keys that are changed every authenticated session with drop-in compression being optional. The pipe provides bidirectional, full duplex communication. It is always open so that data can be pushed or pulled instantly on demand, unlike HTTP driven infrastructures.
